Why am I asked to share my story for registering for the race during the registration
It is our belief that no one should fight cancer alone, and we are looking to collect stories from people who are impacted by cancer, whether as a caregiver, patient, survivor, or family member. We would love to hear why you want to run for Race Against Cancer, what it means to you, and who you are dedicating your run to.
Is there an age limit to participate in the race?
For 5KM, runner must be at least 6 years of age. Participants aged 12 and below must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the same category. For 10KM & 15KM categories, runner must be at least 13 years of age.
How can I be entitled to the Student Rate?
You must be a student aged 23 years and below.
Why do I need to fill out the Indemnity Fields during Registration?
Runners aged 18 and below must fill out the Indemnity Fields for successful registration of the race. The indemnity field is for the Parent/Guardian of the participant under 18 to indemify the Organiser from claims that arises out of his/her participation in the event.
Why am I unable to select my T-shirt size?
As the T-shirts have been pre-ordered, there are limited quantities available per size. We have tried our best to ensure sufficient size quantities. Once a T-shirt size runs out, you will not be able to choose that particular size. You may decide to choose a smaller or larger size, but it will NOT be possible to change your T-shirt size.
Race Pack Collection
What is the Race Pack Collection Expo about?
The Race Pack Collection is a two-day event, happening on 25 & 26 June 2016. Runners will need to pick up their race packs for the event, which will contain their race bib, race T-shirt, race bag, and other sponsored items.
What if I am not able to collect my Race Pack?
Can I change my T-shirt size during Race Entry Pack collection?

What is Race Against Cancer about?
Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer (RAC) is Singapore Cancer Society's flagship fundraising event. We believe that no one should fight cancer alone, and everyone can play a part in minimising the impact of cancer, and to improve the quality of life of those affected. There are many ways you can join the fight - declare it with your lifestyle by being physically active and eating a rainbow, spread the word about why you fight (the more people know, more will donate towards this cause, or to volunteer their resources and talents.)
Fund raised from the RAC campaign will be used to fund various programmes and services which include raising awareness about cancer, promoting cancer screening for at-risk groups, and providing financial and welfare aid for needy cancer patients.

What is the route for this year's run?
How many race categories are there?
There are 3 categories - 15KM Competitive, 10KM Competitive and 5KM Fun Run.
Can I sign up for 2 categories?
Each participant is allowed to sign up for ONE category only.
Is there a baggage deposit at the start point?
There is baggage deposit area at the start point. While due care and security will be enforced, the Organiser will not be responsible for any loss or damaged items or delay in retrieving the bags. Participants are advised to travel light.
What is the Race Day Programme?
Can I skate or cycle during the Race?
I have already registered for the race. However, due to circumstances, I am not able to make it anymore. Can I find a replacement?
Will there be official photographer?
Photography and/or videography will be taken during the event for news and publicity purposes and Singapore Cancer Society reserves the right to use any photograph, motion picture, recordings, or any other record of the Race for any legitimate purposes, including commercial advertising.
Will I get my race timings upon completion of the race?
Yes, race timings are taken for the 10KM & 15KM Competitive Runs and will be posted on the race website after the race. However, please note that the 5KM Fun Run is not a timed race.
Are medals given?
Runners who complete the 10KM & 15KM Competitive Run are entitled to collect the finishers’ medal. However, please note that as the 5KM Fun Run is non-competitive, there is no medal.

What would be the contingency plan should there be bad weather on the Event Day?
In the event of inclement weather, the Organiser reserves the right to delay the commencement of the race. Should the inclement weather persist after delay, the Organiser reserves the right to cancel the race without any refund.
What is the ranking based on?
Ranking and Timing is based on Gun time.
Can I bring my pets along?
Are strollers allowed?
For safety purposes, strollers are not allowed at the race.

Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer (RAC) 2016 is a race to save lives – Organised by Singapore Cancer Society (SCS), Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer (RAC) aims to raise funds for cancer treatment subsidies, welfare assistance, cancer rehabilitation, hospice care, free cancer screenings, research and public education initiatives.
Taking place for the 8th year since 2009, Singtel-Singapore Cancer Society Race Against Cancer (RAC) exists to make our statement against cancer, to minimize cancer and maximize life. No one should fight cancer alone - this event invites people of all walks of life to join in the fight and run alongside those who are impacted by cancer.
Programmes and services that we are hoping to drive include the Cancer Care Fund, Cancer Rehabilitation Centre,
SCS Cancer Treatment Fund, SCS Help the Children and Youth Programme and the SCS Welfare Aid.
The Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) was founded in 1964, registered as a society in 1984 and has IPC (Institution of a Public Character) status as a charity since 1995. SCS is endorsed by the Ministry of Health and is a member of the National Council of Social Service and Singapore Hospice Council.
The Society has just celebrated its 50th birthday and is on a continued mission to defend and uphold the life and dignity of every person directly or indirectly impacted by cancer, journeying along with cancer patients through the different life stages – from early detection to end-of-life care.
The Society is a self-funded charity which organises various fundraising activities, including Race Against Cancer, to rally the community to join in the fight, raising funds to support us in providing quality services to cancer patients, their families and the public.
