13 years old Justin lives in a 2-room rental flat with his mother, who works as a cleaner. Justin’s father was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in November 2016 and passed away in June 2017.
SCS had assisted the family with welfare aid between November 2016 to June 2017, and continues to assist Justin under the SCS Help the Children and Youth Programme (HCYP) Home Tuition Programme since 2017 till date. Justin is also a recipient of the SCS 2019 Good Progress Award for his academic improvements.
During the COVID-19 circuit breaker period, SCS also loaned a desktop to Justin, so that he can continue to study and learn from home when schools switched to homebased online learning and classes. Many students, especially those from the lower-income groups, face difficulties in acquiring adequate resources to access online learning from their homes. With SCS’ assistance, he could carry on with his school education and also continue receiving tuition from SCS' assigned tutor under our one-to-one Home Tuition Programme virtually.Donate now
